DESCRIPTION:OSU Extension Wayne County has set up testing dates with the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture for private and commercial pesticide licensing. Applicators must take an dpass a core exam plus one more specific category exam. Cost of a private applicator license is $30 and a commercial applicator license is $35. \nTesting sessions will be administered by ODA. \nReservations can be made by calling ODA\, pesticide division at 800-282-1955 ext. 31 \nAnyone wishing to be admitted for testing must have a photo ID or some form of identification. \nPrivate applicators are ENCOURAGED to obtain study materials from the Wayne County Extension Office prior to taking the exam. Please plan ahead. It will take 7-14 days for ordered materials arrive.

DESCRIPTION:The Medina County Farm Bureau Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance for those citizens of Medina County who desire to further their education beyond high school level in the field of Agriculture\, Horticulture\, Farm Economics\, Animal Husbandry\, Soil & Water Conservation or Forestry. \nApplications from students of member families who are pursuing other fields of study will be considered also\, but priority will be given to the listed fields.  One Scholarship of $2\,000.00; one scholarship of $1\,500.00; three scholarships of $1\,000.00 each; and two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria: \n\nBe a resident of Medina County or a Medina County Farm Bureau member/dependent at the time of application.\nHave graduated from an accredited high school or be in their senior year.\nPlan to further their education in one of the fields listed above..\n\nAny person who meets the above requirements and desires to apply for the scholarship must: \n\nSubmit the enclosed application form by April 1st.\nBe willing\, if requested\, to meet with the selection committee for a personal interview.\n\nApplicants will be considered on the following: \n\nScholastic ability\nCitizenship and character\nInvolvement with agriculture\n\nThe selection of the recipient will be determined as follows: \n\nA selection committee made up of Medina County Farm Bureau leaders and/or other community leaders will review the applications.\nThe committee will screen all applicants and submit recommendations to the Board of Trustees.\nThe board will select the persons that shall be granted the scholarships. The selection of the Board will be final.\nApplicants who have previously received Medina County Farm Bureau scholarships may reapply for additional scholarships for a maximum of three more years.\nThe scholarships shall be distributed at the discretion of the Board. Payment of the scholarships will be made directly to the school the first year; however\, no payment shall be made until after the first semester or quarter of classes.  Then if re-applied directly to the student or school thereafter.\n\nThe above rules and regulations are designed to create a fair and efficient scholarship program.  No person shall be excluded from applying for the scholarship because of age\, sex\, race\, creed\, religion or politics. \nMedina County Farm Bureau Scholarship Application Requirements \nMedina County Farm Bureau Scholarship Application Form  \n  \n
