DESCRIPTION:Medina County Farm Bureau volunteers are busy preparing for our 2019 Season’s Harvest event on August 15! Tickets cost $125 per person and a limited quantity are available. Tickets go on sale at 8 AM on June 3. It is preferred that you purchase your tickets via the online registration but you can also call the office to reserve your seats (330.263.7456).\nOnline Registration \nDirections for reserving your tickets over the phone: Payment for tickets that are called in must be received within 7 days or else held tickets will be forfeit. Please make checks payable to “Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation” and mail them to 377 W. Liberty St. Wooster\, OH 44691. It is recommended that you call the office prior to sending your check to hold your tickets because tickets often sell out within 2 days. \n  \nAll proceeds from this event benefit Feeding Medina County \n  \nOur mission is to connect diners to the land and the origins of their food\, and to honor Medina County’s farmers. Season’s Harvest is a culinary adventure – literally a harvest without walls. Ingredients for the meal are almost all local with some sourced within sight of the dining table and prepared by local chef\, John Kolar of Thyme2 the Restaurant. \nArriving guests are welcomed to tour this family-owned farm at 5 PM. Passed appetizers and wine will be enjoyed and the live auction begins at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm and guests will be seated at a long table for a meal composed by Chef Kolar. Wine will be paired with each course.

DESCRIPTION:What better way to connect with others then through your camera lens? \nWe invite you to send in entries with subject matter anything related to agriculture (animals\, fields\, barns\, flowers\, etc) to be used in our 2019 calendar! \nTo fit our calendar perfectly\, photos need to be: \n\nHorizontal\nColor\n300 dpi\nTaken at a Medina Co Farm\nTaken and entered by a Medina County Farm Bureau member.\nEach entry must include a brief description and location of photo\, name of photographer\, email address and phone number.\n\n  \nPhotos are due by May 11 2018 via email to lshoup@ofbf.org.\nA few details: \n\nJudging will be immediately following May 11 deadline and winners will be notified either by phone or email.\nJudging criteria – 50% artistic quality and 50% relationship of photo subject to Medina county agriculture\nThere is no cash prizes for winners at this time. The award will be featuring your photo in the calendar!\nCalendars  will be available for purchase at the 100th Medina County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in September

SUMMARY:Safety Meeting for OFBF group rating program members
DESCRIPTION:This training will take place at the newly renovated conference room in the Chamber building. Please try to have your Farm Bureau membership card and your member ID number with you. Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. and the program is from 9-11 a.m. Topics include presentations from the Wayne County Sheriff’s office and the Wayne County Regional Training Facility on drug use in the workforce and fire safety on the farm. You will also have the opportunity to hear a brief presentation on the new Energy Program with Ohio Farm Bureau. \nDue to space constrictions\, we can accommodate 40 attendees. Please register by calling 330-263-7456. Latest date to register is Friday\, April 6 or until capacity is reached. DESCRIPTION:Medina Co Farm Bureau is distributing a total of $7\,000 in scholarships via the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation for 2018. Please share of this scholarship opportunity with any Medina County youth that will be studying in an agriculture-related field in the fall of 2018! To apply\, go to ofbf.org/foundation/scholarships and complete the “Medina County scholarship” application online. Applications are due March 31st. \nScholarship details: Scholarships are awarded to assist graduating high school seniors and current college students that are residents of Medina County or have graduated from any Medina County high school and have been accepted to an accredited two or four year college/university. Scholarships will only be awarded to students who are members or a dependent of a member of Medina County Farm Bureau. Students will be evaluated on extracurricular activities\, work experience\, academic achievement\, and a communication-based on essay. Past recipients may reapply.
