Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. and the program is from 9-11 a.m. Topics include presentations from the Wayne County Sheriff’s office and the Wayne County Regional Training Facility on drug use in the workforce and fire safety on the farm. You will also have the opportunity to hear a brief presentation on the new Energy Program with Ohio Farm Bureau. \nDue to space constrictions\, we can accommodate 40 attendees. Please share of this scholarship opportunity with any Medina County youth that will be studying in an agriculture-related field in the fall of 2018! To apply\, go to ofbf.org/foundation/scholarships and complete the “Medina County scholarship” application online. Applications are due March 31st. \nScholarship details: Scholarships are awarded to assist graduating high school seniors and current college students that are residents of Medina County or have graduated from any Medina County high school and have been accepted to an accredited two or four year college/university. Scholarships will only be awarded to students who are members or a dependent of a member of Medina County Farm Bureau. Students will be evaluated on extracurricular activities\, work experience\, academic achievement\, and a communication-based on essay. Past recipients may reapply.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the annual Season’s Harvest Dinner\, hosted by the Medina Farm Bureau\, and this year\, Boyert’s Greenhouse & Farm! \nThis dinner event connects local residents to local cuisine\, prepared by Chef John Kolar\, all for a good cause! All proceeds from this multi-course dinner\, hosted on a local farm\, go to Feeding Medina County. So join us\, for a lovely evening on a farm\, filled with delicious wine and food\, and packed with fun! \n  \nBuy Now\n  \nSchedule: \n5:00 pm – Gathering and silent auction opens. \n5:30 pm – Live auction. \n6:30 pm – Dinner is served. \nAbout the food: \nAll food and wine for this event are locally sourced. What does that mean? It means that all of the food and ingredients come from local farms. Most of these ingredients come from Medina County farms\, and ingredients that are not produced within the County are produced in Ohio. So this event aims to connect residents with the local agriculture of Medina and Ohio. \nAbout the chef: \nJohn Kolar is a skilled and experienced chef\, creating an amazing meal from local food\, paired with local wine. John owns Thyme 2 on Medina Square\, a local hot spot featuring contemporary cuisine. They run several programs including delivering food from the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank to local food pantries and distributing food to needy children\, families\, and seniors here in Medina County. The farm has grown to include 150 acres where they raise cattle\, chickens\, turkeys and hogs. Our crops include corn\, soybeans\, hay and pumpkins.
