Medina County Farm Bureau Announces 2021 Scholarship Winners

 

Medina County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce its 2021 scholarship recipients: 

 

Katie Anderholm– Katie is the daughter of Beverly and John Anderholm and is a graduate of Cloverleaf High School. She is currently attending The Ohio State University where she is working towards a Bachelors of Marketing Degree and Minor in Agricultural Communications. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree Katie would like to pursue a job in the agriculture industry, specifically agriculture insurance. “I would like to pay back the industry for all of the opportunities it has given me by helping protect the farmers of America and their livelihoods.” Congratulations Katie!

 

 

 

 

 

Bethany Baker– Bethany is the daughter of Robert and Donna Baker and is a 2020 graduate of Wadsworth High School. She is currently attending The Ohio State University studying Mechanical Engineering Pre-Major. Bethany has an anticipated graduation date of May 2024. She plans to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering and use that career in an agricultural atmosphere. Bethany is excited to be an intern at Bridgestone Research Center this summer where she may have a chance to work in the Advanced Tire Mechanics Simulation department. “This experience as well as other internship opportunities in college will allow me to have hands-on experience so that I will be a contributing team member in an agricultural company.” Good luck Bethany!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elizabeth Cauley- Elizabeth is the daughter of Don & Jennifer Cauley is a 2021 graduate from Cloverleaf High School. She plans to attend Ohio State ATI to study Animal Sciences and anticipates graduating in the spring of 2024. Elizabeth would ultimately like to become a Farm Veterinary Technician. “Using my knowledge of agriculture and animals UI will also continue my passion for showing cattle and will breed and raise show stock.” Congratulations Elizabeth!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joseph Mennell– Joseph is the son of Dan and Vicki Mennell and is a 2021 graduate of Black River High School. He plans to attend college and work towards an engineering degree. Joseph also plans to continue working on the family farm while attending college. “I live on our 500 Acre farm raising livestock, grain and forage crops. It has been an essential part of my education and experience this far in life. After graduation I plan to further my education, while running the farm with my younger brother and father, hoping to make it better so that it’s an even greater opportunity for my kids.“ Best of luck Joseph!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brooklyn Sims- Brooklyn is the daughter of Carolyn Sims and is a 2019 Cloverleaf graduate. She currently studies Agricultural Business at Ohio State ATI. Brooklyn has an anticipated graduation date of 2023. After graduation “I will turn my passion for agriculture into my life-long career focusing on industry supply sales, equine nutrition, agriculture event promotions and agriculture-tourism. There are endless amounts of opportunities in the Ag industries in Ohio. Agriculture is one of the leading business industries in Ohio and I have been involved in agriculture since I was a child and it has changed my life in positive ways. I am very proud and excited to graduate from OSU Agriculture technical institute with my agriculture business degree and jump right into the industry!” Congratulations Brooklyn!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cody Walther-  Cody is the son of James and Colleen Walther and is currently studying to be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with an expected graduation date of May 2023. “After completing almost two years of vet school at The Ohio State, my passion has developed even more to be a large animal practitioner interactive in the Medina County agricultural community striving to help my clients reach their goals. Upon graduation, I also plan to continue to farm with my brother striving to become more efficient in both sides of our operation, forage and beef production.” Good luck Cody!
